The Red Star Noble , Shuanghuan Bubble and Shuanghuan Noble car models are products of the Chinese Red Star Auto Manufacturing Company . These small cars have been manufactured in the Chinese city of Shijiazhuang in Hebei Province since 2002 .

With the acquisition of the new plant, Shuanghuan brought the Noble onto the market, which is stylistically very similar to the German Smart City Coupé . These small cars should quickly gain popularity, especially among the urban middle class. In 2004, the new parent company Shuanghuan also adapted the model under its own brand name into the model range. But here the vehicle was available in the cheap version called Bubble and the pop-up version Noble. However, these were only intended for export and were only sold on Asian markets. Both models have also been rolling off the assembly line at Italian Martin Motors since 2006 . The top speed is 140 km / h.

The vehicles considered plagiarism have caused judicial and diplomatic disputes because of their design. This view was widespread, especially in the press, so that Mercedes-Benz, with the support of the German government, tried to prevent the further production of these vehicles and sued in court in the People's Republic of China, which ended after just under a year with no results. The judge was of the opinion that it would be an honor for the creator if someone copies products. Mercedes-Benz recorded its first legal victory in Germany when, together with BMW, it obtained a judicial ban on exhibiting the Bubble, the Noble and also the CEO. Despite all this, the German importer China Automobile Deutschland GmbH violated this ban by exhibiting the Italian SUV Martin Motors CEO at the 2007 IAA . The importer abandoned the idea of offering the small cars in Germany because of the ongoing controversy in the press. Mercedes-Benz also won a victory in Greece by legally banning the further import of the Bubble and Noble models.

The Noble models are equipped with gasoline engines of 1 and 1.1 liters, which comply with the Euro II emissions standard . ABS and EBD are standard equipment. Although the paintwork always takes place in two-tone, the buyer can also choose suitable vinyl for the vehicle ex works. The roof, on the other hand, is only available in black metallic paint.

Since 2010, the Noble has also been assembled in the United States of America by Ruff & Tuff Electric Vehicles and there as an electric vehicle under the name of the newly founded company Wheego Electric Cars , Inc. in Atlanta , a subsidiary of Li-ion Motors Wheego Whip LiFe . This model version premiered at the Washington Auto Show .
