Jilin was a brand of automobiles from the People's Republic of China .

Brand history

A Jilin company started using this brand for automobiles in 1980 . Both Jilin Light Truck Company and Jilin Small Automobiles Factory have been handed down as company names .

In March 1991, China FAW Group took over the company and renamed it FAW Jilin Automobile . Another source gives this in 1987. The brand name Jilin was used until 1997. Since then, the brand name FAW has been used with an addition.

On offer were minivans for a license from Suzuki . Another source mentions pick-ups , another pick-ups and minibuses .

In 1987 a passenger car model was made with the JL730 . It was created under license from the first generation Suzuki Alto . The number of pieces remained small. Another source gives the year 1989 and also mentions pick-ups.
