Guangdong Foday Automobile Co. Ltd. is a manufacturer of automobiles based in Foshan ( People's Republic of China ). Older sources use the name Nanhai Fudi Automobile Corp. Ltd.

Company history

The company goes back to a company that was founded in 1988. Initially, bodies were made. The production of automobiles began in 1996. Bloomberg LP states 2001 as the year of foundation. A website specifies April 26, 2001 as the change date from Nanhai to Guangdong Foday Automobile. The brand name is Foday , and in China it used to be Fudi . In 2008 the company had an annual production capacity of 50,000 vehicles.

In March 2020, it was announced that Xpeng Motors had taken over the company and thereby received state approval to produce vehicles.

The car catalog for the 2016 model year names the SUV models Lanfu and Explorer .

The Lanfu is with a wheelbase mm from 2790 4771 mm long, 1,870 mm wide and 1,828 mm high. To select an available four-cylinder - petrol engine with 2,378 cc displacement and 100 kW of power and a four-cylinder diesel engine with 1850 cc capacity and the same power. Versions with front-wheel drive and selectable all-wheel drive are available.

The Explorer III offers five seats. The wheelbase is 3025 mm, the length 4855 mm, the width 1780 mm and the height 1900 mm. A gasoline engine with 2237 cm³ displacement and 76 kW output or alternatively a diesel engine with 1995 cm³ displacement and 75 kW output drives the rear axle.

The Explorer 6 has space for seven people. The dimensions of 3000 mm wheelbase, 4855 mm length, 1785 mm width and 1920 mm height differ slightly from those of the Explorer III . You can choose between a gasoline engine with 2378 cm³ displacement and 100 kW output and a diesel engine with 2499 cm³ displacement and 80 kW output, which is only available in conjunction with front-wheel drive.

In the 2017 edition, the German car catalog confirms the Lanfu and Explorer models .

The company itself still names the models Lion F 16 , Lion F 22 and Landfort
