Weichai (Chongqing) Automotive Co., Ltd. is a commercial vehicle and automobile manufacturer based in Weifang ( People's Republic of China ). It is a subsidiary of Weichai Power .

history

The company was founded in 1956 as Chongqing Yuzhou Automobile Manufacturing Company and was acquired by the Jialing Group in 1995. In 2005, Chongqing established Jialing Special Equipment Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Chuanjiang Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. together the Chongqing Jialing Chuanjiang Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. , in which Weichai Power first acquired a stake in 2009 and fully acquired it in March 2012.

Other company names mentioned in this context are Chongqing Longjiang Light-duty Automotive Co.Ltd. and Chongqing Lokon Light Auto Co., Ltd. Vellome was named as the brand name for this company . The name Jiachuang (2009-2011) is also mentioned. It is unclear whether and how many vehicles with this brand name were produced or sold.

In the years 2005 and 2007, Weichai Torch Automobile Group Co., Ltd. , a publicly traded manufacturer of automotive parts and heavy trucks.

At the end of 2013, the Yingzhi and Enranger brands (possibly also Weichai Auto ) were introduced. The vehicles are sold under the Weichai brand on Central and South American export markets .

Models

The model range includes pick-ups , vans and trucks .

In 2014 the SUV Weichai Enranger G3 (or Yingzhi G3) was presented. Another model was the Weichai Enranger 737 (or Yingzhi 737) minivan , which debuted in 2015. A year later, the 737-based crossover model Weichai Enranger G5 (or Yingzhi G5) followed. In addition, the Weichai Enranger 727 (or Yingzhi 727) was also introduced in 2016 as an entry-level version of the 737.

Another cheaper version of the 737 should be offered by the commercial vehicle manufacturer Dayun Auto ; it is unclear whether this model was actually produced.
