GAC is a car brand from the People's Republic of China .

Brand history

The Guangzhou Automobile Group is part of the Guangzhou Automobile Industry Group from Guangzhou . After a few joint ventures with foreign partners, the decision was made in the 2000s to bring vehicles onto the market under their own brand names. There were three prototypes at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2007 . A fourth prototype was presented in April 2008.

The first model came on the market in December 2010. It has the brand name GAC and the sub-brand Trumpchi . Manufacturer is GAC Motor .

In May 2019, the first model of the GAC Aion sub-brand for electric cars was also launched . These vehicles are manufactured by GAC New Energy Automobile .

The GAC Aion S appeared in May 2019. The sedan has an electric motor . It found 32,126 buyers in China in the last eight months of 2019. The crossover GAC Aion LX followed in October 2019. Of these, 1,341 vehicles were sold in China by the end of the year. The GAC Aion V went on sale in China in June 2020.
