Shanghai Mini-Auto Works was a manufacturer of automobiles from Shanghai , People's Republic of China .

Company history

The company started producing automobiles in 1958. The brand name was initially Feiyue . Production initially ended in 1960 after around 25 vehicles had been produced.

Production continued in 1966. The brand name was now Haiyan . Production ended in 1970. There was no connection with Shanghai Bus Repair Works from the same city, which used the same brand name between 1959 and 1962.

Brand name Feiyue

Small taxis were on offer . They were open, doorless vehicles with space for four people. The curb weight was 400 kg and the top speed was 50 km / h.

Brand name Haiyan

The SW 710 was a small car that resembled the Goggomobil . Another source indicates that a Saporoshez may have formed the base. Its rear engine had a displacement of 300 cc . The vehicles were used as taxis.

In 1978, many of the remaining vehicles were collected and stored in Shanghai for scrapping.
