JN Auto is a product of the Chinese Zhangjiagang Jiangnan Automobile Manufacture and has been produced under license for the second generation Suzuki Alto since 1983 . The car model name JN Auto is only a derivative of the company name and also stands for the Japanese origin of the model.

Just under a year before the original Suzuki Alto 2 model was officially launched, production of the JN Auto began in Nanning, southern China, of the autonomous Guangxi administrative unit. Although the company only employs 1,000 people, more than 240,000 units were produced in the first year. The JN car was particularly popular in rural areas. It was primarily helped by its low price of around 850 to 3200 euros and the partially futuristic design for the time. In addition to the standard versions, luxury versions came onto the market, which have since been taken out of production. In 2005 the sale of the JN car collapsed and the manufacturer was looking for another possibility of globalization. In 2008 the company was finally swallowed up by Zotye International .

The revised US version uses gasoline engines as the engine. The entry-level model is a three-cylinder model with a displacement of 796 cm³ and an output of 26.5 kW . The top engine is a four-cylinder with 1051 cm³ and an output of 38.5 kW .
