BMW Brilliance Automotive is a manufacturer of automobiles from the People's Republic of China .

Company history

BMW and Brilliance China Automotive Holdings founded the joint venture in 2003 . The seat is in Shenyang .

Already in March 2001 there was a connection between the two companies. At that time, it was about technical assistance from BMW with the introduction of the Group's Brilliance brand . The contract was signed in March 2003. Brilliance initially held around 40.5% of the shares. In April 2003 the share was increased to 44.55%. In May 2003 the state production license was granted. In September 2003, the production of BMW models began using the SKD process . The market launch followed in October 2003. In December 2003 Brilliance increased its stake to 49.5%.
