Company history
BMW and Brilliance China Automotive Holdings founded the joint venture in 2003 . The seat is in Shenyang .
Already in March 2001 there was a connection between the two companies. At that time, it was about technical assistance from BMW with the introduction of the Group's Brilliance brand . The contract was signed in March 2003. Brilliance initially held around 40.5% of the shares. In April 2003 the share was increased to 44.55%. In May 2003 the state production license was granted. In September 2003, the production of BMW models began using the SKD process . The market launch followed in October 2003. In December 2003 Brilliance increased its stake to 49.5%. In January 2010, the shares were then 50:50. In April 2018 it was agreed that BMW would increase its stake to 75%. In January 2019, the shareholders approved. This process should be carried out by 2022.
vehicles
BMW vehicles have been manufactured and sold since 2003. In April 2014, the own brand Zinoro for electric cars and hybrid electric vehicles was added, which has apparently been discontinued.
