The DS 5LS is a sedan from the French car manufacturer DS Automobiles , which was unveiled on December 19, 2013 at the Louvre in Paris , before marketing in China began on March 28, 2014. It is a notchback version of the DS5 in a new body variant , where LS stands for "Luxury Sedan".
The model is based on the PF2 platform, which is used in both the DS4 and DS5. The dashboard takes over some elements from the DS4, while the instrument cluster and steering wheel come from the DS5. The car is powered by a four-cylinder gasoline engine with a displacement of 1.6 liters and a turbocharger (twin scroll), which emerged from the collaboration between PSA and BMW and develops 123 kW (167 hp). It has a 6- speed automatic transmission . Alternatively, a 1.8-liter gasoline engine with 150 kW (204 hp) is available. Both engines are also offered in the DS 6 SUV . The engine variant with 86 kW (117 PS) was not retained, as its power was considered insufficient for a vehicle from the DS model range. The car has a length of 4.70 m and thus exceeds the DS5 by 17 cm. The width is 1.84 m, while the height is 1.50 m with a wheelbase of 2.72 m. Like the DS5, the DS 5LS is manufactured at CAPSA's Shenzhen facility .
It is the first production model from the DS brand to be marketed with the DS logo without a double angle in the radiator grille. Nevertheless, the connection with the parent brand is retained, as the name "Citroën" is on the rear. The DS 5LS is based on the new front section, which was introduced with the Citroën DS Numéro 9 concept vehicle and later the DS Wild Rubis , with the grille labeled "DS Wings" being embedded between the headlights.
