The Toyota Venza is a passenger car model from the Japanese car manufacturer Toyota , which, as a crossover SUV , combines the properties of a station wagon and a van with those of a sports utility vehicle. After the Venza was developed and designed in and for the USA, it has been built in the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky plant in Georgetown (Kentucky) since November 2008 . In the American model range, the car is positioned between the Toyota Camry and the Toyota Highlander . Comparable models are the third generation of the Lexus RX , which uses the same 3.5 liter V6 engine, and the second generation of the Nissan Murano . Since April 2013, the 2.7-liter engine has also been available in Russia.

design

Visually, the series model presented at NAIAS in 2008 is based on the Toyota FT-SX concept vehicle, which was also presented in Detroit in 2005 . The exhibited wheel arches, the wide D-pillar and the sloping rear with double tailpipes are striking.

Furnishing

The Toyota Venza is equipped as standard with reclining rear seats, two-zone automatic climate control, a multifunction steering wheel with cruise control and a radio with CD changer. The safety equipment includes seven airbags including a knee airbag for the driver, ABS , a brake assistant and EBD as well as VSC , traction control and active headrests on the front seats. Special features of the optional equipment available at an additional cost are a DVD navigation system with voice control, a Bluetooth hands-free system, a smart key system , a reversing camera or a DVD entertainment system for the rear seats and a panoramic glass roof.

The Venza , based on the Toyota Camry , is offered with both front- wheel and all-wheel drive and has a six-speed automatic transmission in all versions. The two gasoline engines with VVT-i are, on the one hand, a new 2.7-liter inline four-cylinder with 16 valves and 136 kW (185 hp) and, on the other hand, a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 24 valves. The latter delivers 200 kW (272 hp) and has a maximum torque of 334 Nm at 4300 min -1 .
