University City is a city (with the status " City ") in St. Louis County in the US -amerikanischen State Missouri and part of the metropolitan region of Greater St. Louis . In 2010 University City had 35,371 residents. The city was created by Washington University, immediately to the southeast, in the city of St. Louis .

University City is located on the western city limits of St. Louis. The Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois , is about 15 km to the east. University City is 38 ° 39'21 "north latitude and 90 ° 18'33" west longitude. The city extends over 15.2 km².
The city is largely located in the University Township , but also extends into the Hadley and Clayton Townships .
Adjacent locations of University City are Clayton (south), Ladue (southwest), Olivette (west), Vinita Park (northwest), Hanley Hills (north) and Pagedale and Wellston (northeast). To the east borders the city of St. Louis, the center of which is 14.2 km east of University City.

The western boundary of the city is formed by Interstate 170 . Missouri State Route 340 runs through the city in a west-east direction . All other roads are county roads or subordinate inner-city connecting roads.
The northern outskirts of the city is formed by a Union Pacific Railroad , which leads from the west to St. Louis. Along the eastern outskirts and through the southern districts of University City, two lines of the metroLink run through the metropolitan area of St. Louis.
The Lambert-Saint Louis International Airport is located 14.2 kilometers north-northwest of University City.
