Webster Groves is located in the western suburbs of St. Louis . The Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois , is about 12 km to the east. Webster Groves is 38 ° 35'33 "north latitude and 90 ° 21'26" west longitude. The city extends over 15.3 km².
Most of the city is in Jefferson Township , but a smaller part also extends into Clayton Township .
Places adjacent to Webster Groves are Brentwood and Maplewood , Shrewsbury in the east, Marlborough in the southeast, Grantwood Village in the south, Crestwood in the southwest, Oakland and Glendale in the west, and Rock Hill in the northwest. The center of the city of St. Louis is 19.2 km east-northeast.

Interstate 44 runs through the center of Webster Groves and runs southwest from St. Louis. Along the southern city limits, the old Route 66 shares a route with Missouri State Route 366 . All other roads are county roads or subordinate inner-city connecting roads.
The Webster Groves metropolitan area has several railroad lines running west and south from St. Louis. These are operated by the Union Pacific Railroad and the BNSF Railway , which also provide routes for Amtrak trains. Due to its location on the Union-Pacific route, Webster Groves was able to expand as a suburb of St. Louis, which was overpopulated in the 19th century.
The Lambert-Saint Louis International Airport is located 20.7 km north of Webster Groves.
