Lutz Mez

Lutz Mez (born August 2, 1944 in Karlsbad ) is a German political scientist .

Act

Mez researches v. a. in the field of energy and environmental policy in industrialized countries with a focus on nuclear energy , climate protection and electricity policy. He is co-founder of the Research Center for Environmental Policy (FFU) at the Free University of Berlin and was its managing director from 1991 to April 2010. 1993–1994 he was visiting professor at the Roskilde University Center , Denmark, Department of Environment, Technology and Social Studies. In 2001 he completed his habilitation in political science. He is a member of Attac's scientific advisory board and coordinator of the interdisciplinary center "Berlin Center for Caspian Region Studies (BC CARE)" at the Free University of Berlin . In 2016 he received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon.
