Model series

A model series is a number of mass- produced components or devices that are usually identified by a combination of a brand name and a product name . The technical generation of the product is sometimes also indicated by numbers.

In contrast to the terms type or design, which are often used to characterize general distinguishing features, model series are concrete products.

A model in this sense is the production-related realization of a market-ready product according to construction plans, usually following prototypes or pilot series , while the term modeling, conversely, denotes the simplification or idealization of examined relationships. The opposing terms have in common that the model here as there is the result of a construction .
