Charles Reich
Charles Reich (born May 20, 1928 in New York City , † June 15, 2019 in San Francisco ) was an American lawyer and social scientist and author . Reich was a professor at Yale Law School .
Life
Reich was born in New York City. After finishing school in New York City, he studied law and social sciences. During his student days he participated in the Yale Law Journal (1951–1952). After graduating, he initially worked as a lawyer, after which he was employed as a professor at Yale University . Reich wrote the book The Greening of America . Excerpts from the book appeared in The New Yorker . The book was temporarily at the top of the New York Times' best- selling literary list in 1971 and sold millions of copies.
Reich had been an openly gay person since the 1970s and was an LGBT activist. He lived in San Francisco where he died in June 2019 at the age of 91.
