The Q50 is a car of the middle class from Infiniti , which since spring 2013 as successor to the Infiniti G37 is produced. The vehicle was first presented to the public in early 2013 at the Detroit Auto Show .
The Q50 is the first Infiniti to be given the new designation made up of a Q and a two-digit number from the start of production. When the Q50 was launched in the summer of 2013, the entire model range was given the new name.
The Coupé Infiniti Q60 based on the Q50 has been at dealerships since October 2016 .
The mid-size sedan is manufactured in Tochigi ( Japan ).

In North America , the Q50 is offered with a 3.7-liter V6 gasoline engine with variable valve timing , which has an output of 245 kW (328 hp ) and a maximum torque of 365 Nm. For Europe , a 2.2-liter diesel engine from Daimler ( OM 651 series ) with common rail injection and 125 kW (170 hp) is installed. Both can be combined with a six-speed manual transmission or a seven- speed automatic transmission .
A hybrid drive consisting of the 225 kW (306 PS) 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine from the Nissan 350Z and a 50 kW (68 PS) electric motor is available for both markets . The total output is 268 kW (364 hp). The power is transmitted by an automatic transmission. The hybrid model is also available with all-wheel drive .
The Q50 is offered on the Chinese and European markets with a two-liter, four-cylinder engine with turbocharger, direct injection, 155 kW (211 hp) and 350 Nm at 1,250 to 3,500 rpm, which, like the diesel engine, is a cooperation with Daimler ( M 274 ) and is also used in the E-Class and C-Class .
At the end of 2016, a 3.0-liter V6 turbo engine with an output of 298 kW (405 hp) came onto the market.

Furnishing
For the first time in a production vehicle are in Q50, the driver assistance system DAS (Direct Adaptive Steering, driving with adaptive active steering ). This enables the driver to set his personal preferences and the type of feedback from the road. A lane assistant is an integral part of the DAS .
The safety and comfort features also include the heated LED indicators integrated in the electrically folding exterior mirrors. The audio system, the navigation system and the two-zone automatic air conditioning can be operated using a touch-sensitive touchscreen or touchpad and voice control.
Other standard equipment includes a start-stop system , Bluetooth , cruise control , hill start assist , an electronically adjustable chassis , rain sensor , parking aid , electronic stability program (ESP), drowsiness warning and monitoring system, tire pressure warning system, brake assist , seat heating and six airbags . The vehicle keys can be programmed for four different drivers and each has 96 settings. The price list in Germany (as of 10/2013) starts at 34,350 euros .

Registration numbers
Since the market launch up to and including December 2019, a total of 1,697 Q50s have been newly registered in the Federal Republic of Germany. 2014 was the most successful sales year with 564 units.
