The Infiniti I was a mid-range front-wheel drive sedan offered by the Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan from May 1995 to autumn 2004 in two generations, mainly in the USA.
The I30 was a sedan based on the Nissan Maxima with an independent body, powered by a three-liter V6 with 24 valves, two overhead camshafts and 142 kW (193 PS) or (second generation) 169 kW (230 PS), available with five-speed manual or four-speed automatic.
In late 2001, the I30 received a larger 3.5-liter V6 (190 kW / 258 hp) and was renamed the Infiniti I35.
The I30 was Infiniti's bestseller and sold 115,749 times in the first generation; the second generation found 30,391 customers in its first year.
In 2004 the model was discontinued without a direct successor.
