Stars in the Euro NCAP - Crash Test |
The second generation of the FX has been in production since autumn 2008 and has also been officially available in Germany since autumn 2009. There is a choice of a 3.7-liter V6 and a 5.0-liter V8 petrol engine as well as a 3.0-liter diesel engine.
In April 2012 the FX underwent a facelift that included a new radiator grille and a slightly modified front bumper. The Infiniti FX from 2009 reached the Euro NCAP - Crash Test five stars. In 2010 there were a total of 277 new registrations in Germany, after 9 months of 2011 there were already 481 - significantly more than all other models of the brand combined.
At the end of 2012 Infiniti launched the FX50 "Vettel Edition", limited to 50 pieces, in honor of the brand representative and then 2-time Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel . The engine output was increased to 319 kW (420 PS) and the body received a special carbon body kit to improve aerodynamics and was lowered by 20 mm. The Infiniti FX50 "Vettel Edition" is currently the fastest and most powerful Infiniti that was built for Europe.
After Infiniti decided to rename its model range, the FX became the QX70 in the summer of 2013.
