Previous model | Infiniti M |
The Infiniti Q70 (up to summer 2013: Infiniti M Y51) is a sedan of the upper mid-range of Infiniti , the luxury brand of Japanese vehicle manufacturer Nissan . Originally it was the third generation of the Infiniti M series.
history
The M Y51 was presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in 2010 and the sedan has been on the German market since mid-July 2010 and achieved a total of 37 new registrations in 2010. The model had been available in the USA since March 2010. The third generation of the M series was also the first to be officially sold in Europe. This model competes with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class (2009) , the BMW 5 Series (2010) , the Audi A6 (2011) , the Jaguar XF (2008) and the Lexus GS (2005/2012) .
The design of the limousine is determined by its round shape. The deeply drawn down front section with the large radiator grille and the rounded fender design are intended to underline this effect. These sweeping lines are also continued in the interior.
When all models were renamed in summer 2013, the M Y51 became the Q70. In Japan the Q70 is sold as the Nissan Fuga .
Furnishing
For lush standard equipment includes, among others, a seven-speed automatic transmission with the so-called Drive Mode Selector, the choice of four different driving modes (Sport, Normal, Snow and Eco) permitted, depending on driving style and traffic conditions, Bi-Xenon - headlights , electrically adjustable front seats, a reversing camera, a sound system with MP3 support. In addition to the basic version, there is a choice of four equipment lines - similar to those from Mercedes - which include the following:
- GT: Semi- aniline leather , heated and cooled front seats and a silver powder coating for the handmade inlays of white ash .
- S: active all-wheel steering , sports suspension, sports seats, shift paddles on the steering wheel and 20-inch wheels.
- GT Premium or S Premium: In addition to GT or S : electronic damper control, cornering brake assistant (DCE - Dynamic Cornering Enhancement ), adaptive cruise control (DCA - Distance Control Assist ), lane change assistant (BSW - Blind Spot Warning and BSI - Blind Spot Intervention ) , Lane Departure Warning ( Lane Departure Prevention ) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW - Forward Collision Warning ).
Technical specifications
When sales began in Germany, a 3.7 liter V6 gasoline engine with an output of 235 kW (320 hp) was available in the USA from March 2010.
A 3-liter V6 diesel with 175 kW (238 hp) followed in October 2010, which is only available in Europe. In addition to the V6 petrol engine, a 5.6-liter V8 engine with 313 kW (426 hp) is also available in the USA.
All types have an electronically controlled 7-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode. In the USA, the M56 can also be ordered with all-wheel drive. All engines are installed behind the front axle. The six-cylinder gasoline engine with an aluminum engine block has four valves per cylinder and two overhead camshafts. The valve control is continuously variable via a camshaft adjustment . Both the timing will be as well as the valve can controlled depending on the load and speed (Variable Valve Event and Lift, VVEL). The diesel engine has an aluminum engine block and four valves per cylinder, hydraulic valve lifters and two timing belt-driven overhead camshafts.
In April 2011, a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine with a supporting electric motor and a regenerative braking system was added. The Q70 also has a hybrid version. The engine is a specially adapted 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine that is connected to a 50 kW electric motor and the automatic transmission via two parallel clutches. This light and fuel-saving design makes a classic torque converter superfluous. The electric motor was also designed for higher speeds so that the Fuga Hybrid can reach speeds of more than 100 km / h with a purely electric drive. A lithium-ion battery , which is also supplied with energy by a regenerative braking system, serves as energy storage for the electric drive .
With the introduction of this hybrid system, the Fuga / Q70 is the first self-developed vehicle of this type from Nissan. There was already a hybrid version of the Altima , but the more complicated technology from the manufacturer Toyota was used.
In order to avoid accidents between pedestrians and the hybrid vehicle, which is almost silent in electric driving mode, at low speeds, the Q70 Infinitis has its own Approaching Vehicle Sound for Pedestrians (AVSP) safety system. When driving up to 30 km / h, when the speed is reduced below 25 km / h and when reversing, this automatically generates a sound that alerts bystanders. The servo-assisted rack and pinion steering is speed-dependent, the turning circle diameter is 11.2 m. Optionally, one is all-wheel steering ( "4WAS", 4-Wheel Active Steering) available.
All wheels are individually suspended , at the front on double wishbones with coil springs and internal shock absorbers as well as a stabilizer, the multi-link rear axle is equipped with a stabilizer and dual flow path shock absorber - in the higher-quality equipment lines in double piston design.
The M Y51 has internally ventilated disc brakes with a diameter of 320 mm at the front and 308 mm at the rear, with aluminum brake calipers with 4 opposing pistons at the front and 2 opposing pistons on the rear axle. ABS with brake assist and electronic brake force distribution (EBD) are standard.
The drag coefficient (c w ) is 0.27 to 0.28.
With a length of 4.95 meters, it exceeds the Mercedes E-Class by 8 cm, the 5 Series BMW by 5 cm and the Audi A6 by almost 3 cm.
The trunk of the M37 holds 500 liters, the M30d 450 liters and the M35h 350 liters; the tank capacity is given as 80, for the hybrid model M35h with 70 liters.
In 2015 the 3.0 l diesel engine was replaced by a 2.2 l diesel from Daimler .
