Dobropillja ( Ukrainian Добропілля ; Russian Доброполье Dobropolje ) is a mining town in the Donets Basin in eastern Ukraine in the Donetsk Oblast with about 30,000 inhabitants (2016).

Dobropillja is a town of regional importance in the Donbass and the administrative center of the Dobropillja Rajon (but not part of it itself) 95 km northwest of the Donetsk Oblast center .
Borough
The entire municipality has 63,500 inhabitants (2013).
It is divided into the town of Dobropillja, the municipal councils:
- Bilezke with:
- Bilezke (city, Ukrainian Білицьке )
- Wodjanske ( urban-type settlement , Ukrainian Водянське )
- Biloserske with
- Biloserske (city, Ukrainian Білозерське )
- Bokowe ( settlement , Ukrainian Бокове)

history
Founded in 1840, the town was granted city rights on August 8, 1953. Since 1963 Dobropillja has been a town of regional importance and since 1966 a district center. The place was occupied from October 19, 1941 to September 1943 (with interruptions) by troops of the German Wehrmacht . From 1968 to 2010 there was a trolleybus system in the city (Ukrainian Добропільський тролейбус) with a route length of about 15 kilometers.
