Sjedowe (Ukrainian Сєдове ; Russian Седово / Sedowo ) is an urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast with 2,700 inhabitants.
The settlement is located on the Spit Kosa Kryva that here in the Sea of Azov stands, 101 kilometers south of Oblastzentrum Donetsk and 7 kilometers southeast from Rajonszentrum Novoazovsk. The border with Russia is about 10 kilometers away in a north-easterly direction, the settlement Obryw (Обрив) also belongs to the settlement council .
The place is a popular health resort and was founded in 1750, until 1940 the settlement was named Krywa Kosa (Крива Коса), after which it was renamed Sjedowo / Sedowo in honor of the local born polar explorer Georgi Jakowlewitsch Sedov .
In the summer of 2014, the place was occupied by separatists who want to join the place of the Donetsk People's Republic .
