Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin from 1801

history

The first name of the village was Derevnia Novaya ( Деревня Новая ). Since the construction of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1801, the village was called Novym ( Новым ) and since 1859 the place has had its current name. Due to the existing coal deposits and the proximity to today's Krasnoarmiysk train station, coal mining began in 1911. Since 1956 the village has had the status of an urban-type settlement.
