Hirnyzke (Ukrainian Гірницьке ; Russian Горняцкое / Gornjazkoje ) is an urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast with about 1200 inhabitants.
geography
The urban-type settlement located in the Don Basin , about 66 kilometers east of Oblastzentrum Donetsk and 6 kilometers southeast from the center of Snizhne to the city county counts them away.
The place forms its own settlement council within the town of Snizhne, which also includes the urban-type settlements of Braschyne , Lymanschuk and Nykyforowe , a river flows through the town in a southerly direction, and the Luhansk Oblast ( Antrazyt Rajon ) borders the local area directly in the northeast . In the local area is the Snizhne penal camp (No. 127), a prison in Ukraine.
history
Hirnyzke was founded in 1912 as a mining settlement, received urban-type settlement status in 1938 and has been occupied by separatists from the Donetsk People's Republic since the summer of 2014 during the war in Ukraine .
