Selydowe ( Ukrainian Селидове ; Russian Селидово Selidowo ) is a city of regional importance in eastern Ukraine with 23,000 inhabitants (2018). The mining town emerged from a settlement founded by the Cossacks between 1770 and 1773 and was called Selydivka (Селидівка), in 1956 Selydowe received the status of a town and was renamed to its current name.

The city is located in Donbass in the Donetsk Oblast, 44 km northwest of the Donetsk Oblast center on the M 04 trunk road , a section of the European route 50 .

The urban district has a total of 54,762 inhabitants (2012) and is divided into the municipality of Selydowe with the city of Selydowe itself and the cities
