Luhanske (Ukrainian Луганське ; Russian Луганское / Luganskoje ) is an urban-type settlement in the east of the Ukrainian Donetsk Oblast with about 2,400 inhabitants. The place is located 30 kilometers southeast of the Rajons capital Bachmut and 60 kilometers northeast of the Oblast capital Donetsk .

Luhanske was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1701, at that time the place was founded by Romanian settlers and was called Pjatnadzataja Rota (Пятнадцатая Рота) until 1922 .

He, together with the villages Wosdwyschenka ( Воздвиженка ) Krynytschne ( Криничне ) Losowe ( Лозове ) Myronivka ( Миронівка ) and Rossadky ( Розсадки ) and the settlement Roty ( Роти the settlement council municipality of the same name).

Since February 2015, as a result of the war in Ukraine, the place has been in the immediate vicinity of the southern front line to the separatist areas of the Donetsk People's Republic .
