Hostre

Hostre (Ukrainian Гостре ; Russian Острое / Ostroje ) is an urban-type settlement in the center of the Ukrainian Donetsk Oblast with about 700 inhabitants.

The place is located in the Donets Basin on the railway line between Kurachiwka and Donetsk and administratively belongs to the urban district of the city of Selydowe as part of the Kurachiwka settlement council .

The village emerged as a train station settlement in 1912 and received the status of an urban-type settlement in 1970. The Donetsk Oblast Center is about 34 kilometers east, Selydowe 19 kilometers north and Kurachiwka 5 kilometers northwest of Hostre.
