Viplaix is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Éloy-d'Allier in the north, Saint-Désiré in the northeast, Courçais in the east, Chambérat in the southeast, Mesples in the south, Saint-Palais in the west and southwest and Sidiailles in the northwest.
