Haut-Bocage is a French municipality with 888 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the canton of Huriel and the arrondissement of Montluçon .
It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2016 by merging the former municipalities of Maillet , Givarlais and Louroux-Hodement , which have since had the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative center is in Maillet.

geography
Haut-Bocage is located around 15 kilometers northeast of the city center of Montluçon . Neighboring communities are:
- Hérisson in the northeast,
- Venas in the east,
- Villefranche-d'Allier in the southeast,
- Bizeneuille in the south,
- Estivareilles in the southwest,
- Reugny in the west and
- Vallon-en-Sully in the northwest.
The A71 motorway crosses the municipality.
