Beaune-d'Allier is a French municipality with 291 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Montluçon and the canton of Commentry .
geography
Beaune-d'Allier is 23 kilometers southeast of Montluçon . The Œil , a tributary of the Aumance, has its source in the municipality . In the south, the municipality borders on the Puy-de-Dôme department .
The neighboring municipalities of Beaune-d'Allier are Saint-Bonnet-de-Four in the north, Blomard in the northeast, Vernusse in the southeast, Lapeyrouse in the south, Hyds in the southwest and Louroux-de-Beaune in the northeast.
Surname
Originally the place was called Belna . This name is derived from the Celtic deity Belenus . After the French Revolution , the community was founded in 1793 under the name Baune . It has been called Beaune-d'Allier since 1937 .

The church of Saint-Aignan in Beaune is originally a Romanesque church, but has changed significantly over time. It originated in the 12th century and was expanded mainly in the 16th and 19th centuries. The church is named after Aignan von Orléans .
The remains of the Château de Salbrune from 1689 are located in the Salbrune district south of the village center. The property is listed in the additional directory of the Base Mérimée ( Monument historique ).
