Vallon-en-Sully is a French commune with 1,564 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes in the department of Allier in Arrondissement Montlucon and in the canton Huriel (2015: Canton Hérisson ).

Vallon-en-Sully is located on the Cher River and the Berry Canal . The Aumance flows through the northeast . Vallon-en-Sully is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Épineuil-le-Fleuriel in the north, Meaulne in the northeast, Le Brethon in the east and northeast, Hérisson in the east and southeast, Haut-Bocage with Maillet in the south and southeast, Nassigny in the south, and Chazemais in the south-west, Saint-Désiré in the west and south-west and Saint-Vitte in the west.
The A71 autoroute runs through the municipality .
history
In 1939 Spanish refugees were housed here in the so-called Vallon-en-Sully internment camp .
