Vaux ( Occitan : Vout ) is a French commune of the department Allier with 1,121 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Montluçon and the canton of Montluçon-1 . Vaux is part of the Le Val de Cher municipality .
geography
Vaux is located about 81 kilometers northwest of Clermont-Ferrand on the Canal de Berry on the Cher , which borders the municipality to the east. Vaux is surrounded by the neighboring communities Audes in the north and northwest, Reugny in the north and northeast, Estivareilles in the east, Saint-Victor in the south and southeast, Domérat in the south and southwest and La Chapelaude in the west.
