Gert Naue

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gert Naue (born July 21, 1934 in Leipzig ) is a German engineer and professor of technical fluid mechanics . From 1975 to 1981 he was rector of the Technical University "Carl Schorlemmer" Leuna-Merseburg .

Life

Gert Naue was born in an anti-fascist working-class family in Leipzig. Here he began his school education in 1941, which he was able to complete in 1953 with the Abitur at the Petri-Oberschule. He then completed a degree in aerospace engineering at the Technical University of Dresden , which he completed in 1958 as a graduate engineer for aerodynamics. This was followed by an apprenticeship, which led to a doctorate in 1962 under the supervision of Werner Albring , where cooling on rotating disks was treated.

He started his career in industry in 1961 at the research and testing institute for fluid flow machines in Pirna near Dresden, where he became head of the thermodynamics department. In 1965 he was appointed lecturer at the "Carl Schorlemmer" Technical College in Leuna-Merseburg . In the following year he obtained his habilitation at the Technical University of Dresden on the calculation of eddy incompressible flows using a difference method. In 1967 he was appointed professor for technical fluid mechanics at the TH Leuna-Merseburg.

In 1970 he was elected dean. This was followed by a study visit to the Siberian Department of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR in Novosibirsk in 1971/72. On his return he was Vice Rector for Research from 1973 to 1975, and in this capacity he was named “Hero of Labor” in 1974.

His work as Vice Rector was followed by an electoral term as Rector of the TH Leuna-Merseburg from 1975 to 1981, succeeding Hans-Heinz Emons . His successor in the office of Rector was Margit T. Rätzsch .

Naue concentrated his research work for process engineering on flow modeling and flow simulation as well as their application to complex dispersion calculations. Furthermore, he performed fundamental work on the modeling of transport processes in fluids on the basis of fields.

In 1992 Naue retired, he also co-founded an engineering office and continues to work as an engineer and as an expert. Naue has lived in Dresden since then.
