Juan Pablo Montes (born October 26, 1985 in Sulaco ) is a Honduran football player who is under contract with the Honduran club CD Motagua in the first Honduran league . He plays in the position of the defender .

Career

Club career

Montes began his professional career in 2006 with the Honduran club Atlético Olanchano . In 2007 he switched to CD Victoria , where he stayed until the end of the 2010/11 season and was used in 51 league games. He scored a goal.

Subsequently, Montes switched to CD Vida , where he was not used due to a foot injury. With intermediate stops at CD Necaxa in the 2011/12 season and Platense FC in the 2012/13 season, he moved to CD Motagua at the beginning of the 2013/14 season .

National team

Montes played his first game for the Honduran national team as part of the Central American Cup 2013 on January 18, 2013 against the national team of El Salvador . In his second game, just four days after his debut and also in the context of the Central American Cup, he scored the only goal of his team in a 1-1 draw against the Panamanian national soccer team.

Montes was part of the squad for the Honduran national team for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil ; but was not used there. Honduras was eliminated after three preliminary round matches in fourth in Group E from the tournament.
