Hamdara is a rural municipality in the department Mirriah Department in Niger .

geography

Hamdara is located in the Sahel region . The neighboring communities are Zermou in the northwest, Guidimouni in the northeast, Wacha in the south and Mirriah in the west. The municipality is divided into 27 administrative villages, 37 traditional villages, 63 hamlets and two camps. The main town of the rural community is the administrative village of Hamdara (also: Hamdara Laouali).

The Forêt classée de Kissambana is a 1880 hectare forest area under nature protection in the municipality of Hamdara. It was placed under protection in 1950.

history

The rural community of Hamdara emerged from the canton of Kissambana / Hamdara in 2002 as part of a nationwide administrative reform.

population

At the 2001 census, Hamdara had 22,824 inhabitants. For the year 2010, 30,992 inhabitants were calculated.

Economy and Infrastructure

The community is located in a zone where rain-fed agriculture is practiced. The national road 1 runs through Hamdara, which connects the place with the neighboring communities Mirriah and Guidimouni.
