Rain farming

The rain-fed agriculture is a form of floor construction , the only water from rainfall and thus without additional artificial irrigation manages. Dry cultivation is a special form of rain- fed cultivation. The other concept is irrigation cultivation .

In the desert fringes of the Near East, rain-fed agriculture is usually possible from an annual rainfall of more than 250 millimeters. The labor input is higher and the yields are lower than with irrigated agriculture. In Afghanistan and Tajikistan , rain- fed agriculture is called lalmi .

Wet cultivation is not to be confused with rain- fed agriculture .
