Labor input

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Labor 's economy from a labor force because of their work motivation and achievement motivation rendered performance .

General

The term labor input has two different meanings. Historically, it is associated with Nazi forced labor, i.e. the systematic management of the workforce according to the overriding aspects of National Socialist state policy. On May 15, 1934, the “Law Regulating Labor Deployment” was enacted. With the term “work effort”, following the previous usage, memories of the military and war should be associated.

Today, the concept of labor input is a frequently used term in business administration and economics in connection with the production factor work . The effort of labor input generated for the workers that work suffering , which by the remuneration to be compensated.

Business administration

In business administration, labor input is sometimes equated with labor productivity , for example as a business indicator based on the number of hours worked or the number of employees. But labor productivity ( ) is the relationship between the work result ( work performance ) and the labor input required for this:

.

Hence the labor input is the input of the production factor labor .

As early as 1932 Stefan Lorentz recognized a tension between work input and work result: In 1940 Walter Thoms also saw a polar tension between work input and work result: “The performance is the synthesis of work input and work result. Work input and work result belong together directly. They are mutually dependent and inevitably support each other. ”With low work motivation and achievement motivation, the work input is low and vice versa.

Macroeconomics

In the macro- production theory of the labor of the production factor is working for the determination of the economic measure of productivity used, wherein the working element ( ), the working volume ( is opposed to):

.

Labor productivity increases when the volume of work increases with the same amount of work and vice versa. The effort should contribute to achieving the greatest possible work result. The companies increase the planned labor input to the point at which the marginal profit equals zero and the marginal productivity of labor corresponds to the real wage level.

The economic production relations are reflected in an aggregated production function . It describes the relationship between the overall economic production of goods and the production factors used for this purpose:

.

Real capital and the labor input measured in working hours serve as production factors here .

The corporate goals should be achieved with the least possible amount of work ( minimum principle ) or with a given amount of work ( maximum principle ).

human Resource

In human resources , work is used as a synonym for hard work or commitment and is used in this form for assessments ( performance appraisal , employee appraisal or official appraisal ). According to Section 61 (1) BBG, civil servants must dedicate themselves to their profession with full personal commitment .
