Protected part of the landscape orchard at the Hünenburg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The protected landscape component of the orchard on the Hünenburg with an area of 0.91  ha is located west of Leitmar in the urban area of Marsberg . The area was designated in 2008 with the Marsberg landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis as a protected landscape component (LB). The LB is surrounded by the landscape protection area open spaces around Leitmar .

description

The landscape plan explains the LB: “In the terrain with a relatively strong relief - predominantly in a basin exposed to the north - the protected property includes an elongated orchard, which is noticeable from the L 549 that runs through Leitmar and also represents an element of vitalising the landscape in the local recreation area. It essentially consists of old, partly gnarled apple trees; there is also a large cherry on the southern edge. On the western edge - outside the demarcation - some field trees complement the landscape structuring function of the LB. In order to ensure the long-term effect of this orchard both in terms of the landscape and its ecological functions, due to the relatively uniform, advanced age, replanting of tall fruit trees (regional varieties if possible) should be carried out in good time. "

Protection purpose

The designation as LB took place:

  • To maintain, develop or restore the efficiency and functionality of the natural balance
  • For revitalizing, structuring or maintaining the townscape and landscape
  • To ward off harmful effects

Like the other LBs in the landscape plan area, the LB represents an outstanding habitat for the ecological performance of the natural balance. It also serves as an element that structures and animates the landscape. The designation serves to ward off real or potential harmful effects through the removal of plants, relief or water changes, etc.
