Alexander Jakesch (born June 9, 1862 in Prague ; † February 6, 1934 ibid) was a Czech painter and sculptor, older brother of the painter Heinrich Jakesch (1867-1909).

Alexander Jakesch studied from 1878 to 1880 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and from October 18, 1881 to 1886 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich , then again in Prague, where he worked as a freelance artist.

In 1892 he was awarded the Rome Prize and toured Italy with his brother Heinrich Jakesch in 1893 and 1894 . During his stay he created genre and landscape pictures.

After his return he painted large-format views of Prague and other cities in Bohemia and Moravia. In addition to painting, he dealt with etching and sculpture, created a. a. the grave monument of his brother Heinrich, who died early.

From 1903 to 1924 Jakesch worked at the School of Applied Arts in Prague.
