Saint-Victor-Montvianeix is a French commune in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Thiers and the canton of Thiers (until 2015: canton of Saint-Rémy-sur-Durolle ). The commune has 1,741 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) called Saint-Rémois .
Location and traffic
Saint-Victor-Montvianeix is located about 44 kilometers east-northeast of Clermont-Ferrand on the Credogne and on the edge of the Forez mountains . Saint-Victor-Montvianeix is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Châteldon in the north and north-west, Lachaux in the north, La Guillermie in the north and north-east, Lavoine in the east and north-east, Palladuc in the south and south-east, Saint-Rémy-sur-Durolle in the south, Paslières in the west and south-west and Puy-Guillaume in the west and north-west.
Saint-Victor-Montvianeix is now part of the Livradois-Forez Regional Nature Park .
