Puy-Guillaume is a French commune in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Thiers and the canton of Maringues (until 2015: canton of Châteldon ). The municipality has 2,752 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017), called the Puy-Guillaumois .

geography

Puy-Guillaume is located on the Dore River , which the Credogne joins here. Puy-Guillaume is surrounded by the neighboring communities Ris in the north, Châteldon in the east and northeast, Saint-Victor-Montvianeix in the east and southeast, Paslières in the south and southeast, Charnat in the southwest and Limons in the west. The former route nationale 106 (today's D906) runs through the municipality .

The municipality of Puy-Guillaume is part of the Livradois-Forez Regional Nature Park .
