Celles-sur-Durolle is a French commune in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Thiers and the canton of Thiers (until 2015: canton of Saint-Rémy-sur-Durolle ). The municipality has 1,738 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).
Location and traffic
Celles-sur-Durolle is located about 44 kilometers east-northeast of Clermont-Ferrand on the Durolle and on the edge of the Forez mountains . Celles-sur-Durolle is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Palladuc in the north, Arconsat in the northeast, Chabreloche in the east, Viscomtat in the southeast, Sainte-Agathe in the south, Escoutoux in the southwest, Thiers in the west and La Monnerie-le-Montel in the northwest. The A89 car route runs through the municipality .
Celles-sur-Durolle is now part of the Livradois-Forez Regional Nature Park .
