Moissat is a French commune with 1,225 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Moissat belongs to the Arrondissement of Thiers and the canton of Lezoux (until 2015: canton of Vertaizon ).

location

Moissat is located about 18 kilometers east of Clermont-Ferrand in the Limagne region . The municipality is crossed by the Litroux river. Moissat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Seychalles in the north, Lezoux in the northeast, Ravel in the east, Glaine-Montaigut in the southeast, Reignat in the south, Espirat in the south and southwest and Bouzel in the west.
