Orléat ( Occitan : Orlhat ) is a French municipality with 2,157 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The place belongs to the Arrondissement Thiers and is part of the canton of Lezoux .

geography

Orléat is about 27 kilometers east-northeast of Clermont-Ferrand . The river Dore limits the community to the east. Orléat is surrounded by the neighboring communities Crevant-Laveine in the north and north-west, Dorat in the north-east, Thiers in the east, Peschadoires in the south-east, Saint-Jean-d'Heurs in the south, Lezoux in the west and south-west and Bulhon in the north-west.

The A89 autoroute runs through the municipality .
