Thiers is a French commune with 2,132 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The place belongs to the Arrondissement Thiers and is part of the canton of Lezoux . The inhabitants are called Pescadoriens .

geography

Peschadoires is located about 32 kilometers east-northeast of Clermont-Ferrand on the Dore River . Peschadoires is surrounded by the neighboring communities Orléat in the north and west, Thiers in the northeast, Escoutoux in the east, Néronde-sur-Dore in the south and southeast, Bort-l'Étang in the southwest and Saint-Jean-d'Heurs in the northwest.

The Autoroute A89 as well as the former Route nationale 89 (today D2089) and the former Route nationale 106 (today D906) lead through the municipality . Part of the municipality is located in the Livradois-Forez Regional Nature Park .
