Geographical location
The place is located about 45 kilometers from Clermont-Ferrand directly on the Dore River . Courpière borders on Lezoux to the north, Montbrison to the south, Billom to the west and the Monts du Forez mountain range to the east . The commune is located in the Livradois-Forez Regional Nature Park .
