Ris is a French municipality with 765 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Thiers and the canton of Maringues (until 2015 Châteldon ).
geography
Ris is located about 16 kilometers south-southeast of Vichy am Dore , which borders the municipality in the west and flows into the Allier here . Ris is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mariol in the north and northwest, Busset in the north, Arronnes in the northeast, Lachaux in the east, Châteldon in the south and southeast, Puy-Guillaume in the south, Limons in the southwest and Mons in the west.
