The Canton of Châteldon was 2015 a French constituency in the Arrondissement Thiers in the Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Caroline Dalet ( PG ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Department from 2010 to 2015 .

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the departments as part of what was then the "District of Thiers". With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the Thiers arrondissement.

geography

The canton bordered the cantons of Cusset-Sud and Le Mayet-de-Montagne in the Arrondissement Vichy in the Allier département in the north and northwest , the canton Saint-Rémy-sur-Durolle in the east, the canton Thiers in the south, and the southwest the canton of Lezoux , to the west to the canton of Maringues and to the north-west to the canton of Randan in the arrondissement of Riom .
