The District of Beaumont is a French constituency in Arrondissement of Clermont-Ferrand in the Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Alain Brochet has been a representative in the General Council of the Department since 1998.

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "District of Clermont-Ferrand". With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Clermont-Ferrand.

geography

The canton borders in the north with the cantons of Clermont-Ferrand-Sud-Ouest , canton Clermont-Ferrand-Sud and canton Clermont-Ferrand-Sud-Est , in the east with the canton Aubière , in the south with the canton Saint-Amant-Tallende , to the west to the canton of Rochefort-Montagne and to the north-west to the cantons of Royat and Chamalières .
