The canton of Randan was a French canton in the arrondissement of Riom in the department of Puy-de-Dôme and in the region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes until 2015 ; its main place was Randan . Eric Gold was the last representative in the General Council of the Department from 2004 to 2015. The canton was 144.04 km² and had (1999) 5,341 inhabitants, which corresponded to a population density of 37 inhabitants per km². It was on average at 335 meters above sea ​​level , between 256 m in Saint-Priest-Bramefant and 407 m in Saint-Denis-Combarnazat .
