The District of Saint-Amant-Roche-Savine was 2015 a constituency in the Arrondissement Ambert in the Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhone-Alpes in France . Jean-Luc Coupat was the last representative on the Department's General Council from 2004 to 2015.

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 in the course of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the district of Ambert . With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of the then Arrondissement of Ambert. From September 10, 1926 to June 1, 1942, the canton was part of the Thiers arrondissement .

The canton bordered the canton of Olliergues in the north, the canton Ambert in the east and southeast , the canton Saint-Germain-l'Herm in the southwest and the canton Cunlhat in the northwest .
